Jim joined the IT staff in August 2002 as an Instructional Technologist after completing a M.S. Ed in Instructional Technology & Media Management from SUNY Potsdam. Prior to joining St. Lawrence, he taught instrumental music on the elementary, middle, and high school levels for nearly 10 years and also holds B.Mus and M.Mus degrees from the Crane School of Music in Potsdam. In addition to keeping current on new technological developments that will impact teaching, Jim still works to keep active as a musician (trombone player) and is also a 10 year veteran with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. During his tenure here at St. Lawrence, he has conducted numerous workshops covering a wide variety of topics, and has served as the primary front-end administrator for ANGEL. In 2006, he was promoted to his present position as the Educational Technologies Resource Manager where he now continues many of the core responsibilities along with supervision of Media services and eClassroom design. In 2007, he completed Educause Institute Management Program.
