Data/video projector

SmartBoard

  • Turn on projector
  • Select RGB1
  • Use your finger on the SmartBoard to "click" or "double click", as you would with a mouse

Scholastic or AverVision 110 object cameras

  • Turn the camera on with the small round button on top (Scholastic cam) or far right of base (AverVision)
  • Place a document (or object) below the lens
  • Double click the Camera Player(TV icon) on the desktop to launch the camera software
  • Rotate the lens hood slightly to the left or right to focus (Scholastic cam) or use the controls at the top of the camera head (AverVision)

Wireless mouse and keyboard

  • This unit works while held in the air (with minor wrist movement), or while gliding on the desk surface
  • When held in the air, press the trigger button on the bottom side with your finger, while clicking the mouse buttons with your thumb
  • Make sure to replace the mouse back in the charging unit when finished

Project laptop video

All instructor desks and podiums contain AC power outlets and connection jacks for a laptop, either at the side of the desk or inside the podium on the Extron VGA Switcher

  • Connect network cable
  • Connect VGA cable
  • Power up laptop computer
  • You may need to use the Function (Fn) key and one of the numbered F keys together to tell the laptop to output video to the projector

Adjust volume

  • Increase or decrease volume with the arrow buttons on the projector remote
  • The audio output will automatically relate to the input source you have chosen (RGB1, RGB2, or video).

Play a VHS tape

  • Use the remote to power on the projector
  • Use the INPUT button on the remote to select Video
  • Place a video tape in the VCR and turn it on
  • Increase or decrease volume with the arrow buttons on the projector remote

Play a DVD

  • Use the remote to power on the projector
  • Set the projector for RGB1 (computer display)
  • Place a DVD in the computer DVD-ROM drive
    • Double-click PowerDVD icon on the desktop if PowerDVD does not run automatically
  • Enable DVD RegionKiller as follows
    • Right-click on the red globe icon in the system tray, lower right of the Windows desktop
    • Left-click on Enable RegionKiller
    • The globe will be green and blue when RegionKiller is activated
  • Press the play button on the virtual player
  • Double-click on the maximize button on the top right corner of the window
  • During playback of a DVD, you can bookmark important scenes for easy access the next time you use that particular DVD
