Install / Upgrade Mathematica

Windows

• Remove previous versions (if applicable):
  • Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel
  • Double click on Add or Remove Programs
  • Locate and select Mathematica
  • Click Change/Remove
• Browse to N:\Menu\SLU Network Menu\Software for Courses\Mathematics
• Double click on Setup - Mathematica 5.2
• Select Full in the Mathematica 5.2 Setup window
• Click Install
• After the files have copied, select Enter license information now
• Click Finish to launch Mathematica
• In the window titled Personalize Mathematica:
  • Select Network License
  • Enter saint.stlawu.edu in the license manager field

Macintosh

• Remove previous versions (if applicable):
  • Delete the Mathematica.app files from your system
    • These files are typically located in the Applications directory
• Click on the desktop to go to the Finder
• Click on the Go menu
• Select Connect to Server…
• In the Server Address: field, type smb://saint
• Click connect
• Select the apps volume
• Click OK
• Login into saint using your network username and password
• Browse to InfoTech/installs/Mac/mathematica
• Double click Mathematica 5.2.dmg to mount the disk image
• Drag Mathematica 5.2 to your Applications folder to install
• Go to Applications
• Double click the Mathematica 5.2 icon to launch the program
• In the window titled Please personalize your copy of Mathematica
• Select Network License
• Type saint.stlawu.edu in the license manager field
• Click OK to start using Mathematica
  • You may now close the Mathematica 5.2 install windows
  • Remember to drag the APPS volume and Mathematica 5 disk image to the trash to disconnect
