WARNING: Use the remote control to shut down a data projector!

Failure to use the remote control for shut down (using the switch on the projector to manually turn it off) bypasses the necessary cool down mode:
  • If the lamp does not cool down properly it will drastically shorten the bulb life and compromise safety.
  • Specifically, it can cause the lamp to explode within the projector, which totally destroys the entire projection unit!
  • Most importantly, this explosion has been known to cause physical damage by expelling glass and other matter into the atmosphere!

The cool down period is brief (2 minutes) and a minor inconvenience in light of the damage and danger in bypassing a cool down. Health and safety hazards are very serious, so please use the remote to shut off the projector and allow the cool down function to work as intended.

Please call IT (x5595) if you notice an odor associated with the projection unit, or if you notice the orange lamp on the top left corner of the projection unit is lit during use. Continued use in either case will damage the projector and compromise safety.
