Additional Note:
René Thatcher joined the IT staff in 1990 and was appointed Student Services Coordinator in 1994 where she designed the IT HelpDesk to centralize desktop support. Prior to working as a co-CIO within Information Technology, René held the title of Manager of User Services (2003) and Director of Technical Services (2005). Presently she is responsible for managing user services and directing client services which encompasses Office Services, IT HelpDesk, computer labs, and desktop software and hardware support for university and student owned computers. She enjoys people and making them comfortable with technology and has spent her career working to break down these unspoken barriers. In 2002, René earned the John P. "Jack" Taylor Distinguished Career Service Award, presented annually to the member of the administration who demonstrates high standards of excellence in services to the University. A lifetime local resident who attended SUNY Canton College of Technology, René and husband Rhett live in Heuvelton with their children.
