Accessing Lynda.com Online Technology Training
Lynda.com resources are available to all members of the SLU community. The site is accessible by any computer connected to the SLU network; even when off-campus, through the VPN.
Please note that use of these resources by hourly employees for work-related training requires supervisory approval.
Access the site here: http://iplogin.lynda.com/
As long as you are on the SLU network, you should see that you have been logged in as an "IP Program User"

The university has a limited number of IP Concurrent Licenses allowing access to these materials. If one of these licenses is not available when you try to access materials, you will receive a message indicating that the university's license has expired. If so, simply wait for awhile and try again; a license should open up shortly. If you continue to have trouble accessing the site, please notify the IT HelpDesk (x5770).
Once logged in, you will have complete access to an extensive library of training materials. There are currently more than 650 courses totaling more than 41,000 tutorials, and more are added all the time. To find what you'd like to learn about, you may browse by subject, product, software vendor, or the author of the tutorial. Or, just search by keyword.

This will bring up a list of courses:

Click into the course of your choice, then pick and choose the specific tutorials you would like to view. The tutorial topics are generally very tightly focused and last from 2 to 10 minutes.
If you need to pause, rewind, fast-forward, or adjust the volume, use the controls at the bottom of the video window:

You may need to adjust the volume on your computer and/or headphones as well.
In addition to training videos, you may access files used during the tutorial. These may be downloaded so you can work right along with the instructor. Click the link above the Table of Contents with a course to start the download.

When you are finished with your training session, please click "Logout" to release the license for another user. Otherwise, it will take 30 minutes for the license to time-out automatically, tying up the license unnecessarily.
