Students receiving new Macs from the Computer Purchase Program are advised to reset their local password for installing programs and making administrative changes.

1)    Click “Go” in the Finder menu bar (Top of Screen)
2)    Select “Applications” from the dropdown menu
3)    Open “System Preferences”
4)    Click on the “Accounts” Button
5)    Select your user account from the list on the left
6)    Click “Change Password”
7)    Fill in required information
8)    Click “Change Password” to execute
9)    Quit System Preferences
