VPN for Off-Campus Access
What is a VPN?
A VPN is a Virual Private Network. Once connected to our St. Lawrence VPN, your computer behaves as if it is actually connected on campus.
When should I connect to the VPN?
Connecting to the VPN adds a level of security by encrypting information exchanged between your computer and the network. This is highly recommended for users connecting to public wi-fi hotspots (airports, coffee shops) and in some cases may be required to access some campus information (video streaming, network drives and some websites) while off campus.
How do I connect to the VPN?
Select your operating system to set up the VPN:
Please note that if your internet service provider (e.g. Time Warner Cable) provides you with a router or wireless router, it must be PPTP enabled. To make sure, please contact your service provider.
