Faculty, staff and students can print, scan and copy at a number of copiers on campus. These copiers are dubbed 'Public Printing Stations' as they all are capable of releasing print jobs sent to our 'Public Printing' queue. To configure your computer to print to 'SLU_Public_Printing,' visit http://infotech.stlawu.edu/node/633.
How it works
To print in Black and White, the user prints to the 'SLU_Public_Printing' queue. The document is sent to a printing server where it resides until that user uses their SLU ID card at one of the Public Printing Stations on campus to release the print job. This ensures users get the document they need, when they need it, from a location nearest to them. Users receive an email confirmation when their document is available to be printed.
There are 2 ways to print in color: (1) This method will be available in the near future: From a University computer, simply print to the SLU_Public_Printing_Color queue and release the print job at a color copier. (2) Log into the print management website (http://papercut) and choose Web Print. Select the SLU_Public_Printing_Color queue, upload your file to print, then release at a color copier.
|What it costs
Students receive 800 free sheets per academic year. Once a student exceeds their 800 sheet allotment, they are charged $0.06 per sheet. Students may monitor their print usage, charges, and request reimbursements at http://papercut.
Color printing is now available through some public copiers at an additional charge which will be noted here in the near future.
